6. Customise Motion

Motion and Duration
Zoom in
Zooming in focuses the viewer on particular part of the picture. The section zoomed into appears to be coming closer.

Still
Sometimes it is important to have a rest from movement. It is possible to use this feature to crop an image

Duration
The picture will last as long as your narrative. It can be made to last longer but not shorter.

Zoom out
Zooming out starts with a detail and then shows the surroundings. The section zoomed out from appears to be getting further away.

Path
This copies the way your eye looks at some pictures
- moving around to different places

REMEMBER - you'll need a copy of the picture for each part of the path and turn off transitions

Tutorials
The Tutorials below will give you lots of help customising motion in your digital story. The middle one is especially useful if you wish to create paths - which can seem a bit complicated when you try it.

Pan
Panning moves across the picture. The picture appears to be going past.

Transitions
Transitions are the way one pictures changes into the next. Photo Story automatically Cross Fades from one picture to the next. Only use another transition if it helps to tell the story. If you are making a pathway using several movements over the same picture, turn transitions off.
